  • Do I need a GP referral?
Yes, you will need a referral to be able to claim back some of the fee of the consultation from Medicare. A GP referral lasts 12 months.
  • What if I am bleeding on the day of my consultation or planned surgery?
Don’t worry, this is a common occurrence. There is no need to change your planned consultation or surgery but if you are bleeding heavily or uncomfortable then please inform us (email or call) and we can work out how to best proceed.
  • What if I can’t attend my appointment?
This is not a problem, but we do sincerely appreciate you cancelling or rescheduling and the sooner you let us know, the better. If you are running late then just let us know and Dr Sarah will be able to advise if we can still accommodate your appointment on that day or change to another day.
  • Is there a fee for the consultation?
Yes, this is not a bulk billing practice, and there is a set fee for consultation and additional fees for procedures such as Mirena insertion. Please ask when booking what fee you will likely be charged. Dr Sarah is happy to discuss fees with you if you have financial difficulties. It is best to let us know prior to the consultation if this is the case so we can advise you.
  • Do I need to have private health insurance?
No, you don’t. Private health insurance only covers inpatient hospital fees. If you don’t have private health insurance, Dr Livingstone can organise your care through the public hospital system.
  • Is there parking available for my appointment?
Yes There is paid parking available underneath the North Shore Health Hub. You may access via Reverse Road and Westbourne Street. There is metered parking available on Westbourne Street. There is also paid parking in the North Shore Private Hospital car park P1. This parking alternative may be full after 9am.
